About Salome Masghati, MD, FACOG

As a gynecologist with specialized training in minimally invasive surgery, I have always been passionate about women’s health. However, a few years ago, I found myself struggling with an array of symptoms that seemed to have no clear cause. I felt constantly tired, battled with depression, and experienced brain fog and memory issues. My mood swings were unpredictable, and I felt increasingly distant from my usual self. These persistent health issues puzzled me and, as a physician, I knew I had to uncover the root cause.

Determined to find answers, I embarked on a comprehensive journey of self-discovery and healing. I underwent a series of tests, including nutritional evaluations, gut health testing, extensive blood work, and finally, heavy metal and hormone testing. The results were both alarming and enlightening. I discovered that I had significant mercury and lead toxicity, which had severely impacted my health. My thyroid and ovaries had essentially shut down, leading to a critical imbalance in my hormones.

This personal health crisis was a turning point for me. It highlighted the importance of looking beyond conventional symptoms and treatments to understand the underlying causes of health issues. With the right interventions, including hormone replacement, improving my light environment, heavy metal detox, reducing my work hours and changing from hospital work to private practice, I began to reclaim my health and vitality.
