Founder and CEO, MD for Accuracy

Dr. Mark J. Halsted is a demonstrated leader in patient safety and a dedicated advocate for preventing physician burnout. As a triple-board certified pediatric radiologist, pediatric neuroradiologist, and neuroradiologist, Dr. Halsted’s clinical experience spans 34 years. He has been licensed by nearly 40 state medical boards and credentialed by hundreds of hospitals for which he has provided radiology services.

A graduate of the University of Chicago, Yale Medical School, and the University of California, Dr. Halsted led peer review and a patient safety -focused Information Technology Research and Development division that invented, built, patented, and licensed novel patient safety-enhancing radiology workflow software as well as other safety- and quality- improving software systems. The efficacy of these systems was objectively rigorously studied and proven. He was voted one of the top US healthcare IT innovators in several national polls among IT leaders, has been widely published in national and international peer-reviewed journals, and was named a partner in the largest private radiology practice in the United States. He has also been a member of and led multiple national and international medical society committees. He founded and is the CEO of MD For Patients, a global multi-specialty medical practice providing direct patient access to experienced, hand-picked expert physician specialists.

He also founded and is the CEO of MD for Accuracy, for which he leverages decades of clinical experience to pioneer new solutions for patient safety. His latest initiative provides contemporaneous, confidential, unbiased second-opinion consultations for difficult cases, addressing the persistent challenge of preventing patient harm events.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Halsted has many passions. A former exchange student in Japan and France, he travels extensively and enjoys outdoor activities, cultural events, and music.
